Welcome to over 100 years of Rotary in Christchurch, NZ

Being a Rotarian is about the people we help. The only thing that matters in Rotary is how much better the world becomes because Rotary is in it and because we make a difference. It is important that we commit more time to our projects and fellowship activities. Every one of us has something to give – whoever we are and whatever our place in life. We each have our own unique talent, knowledge, and abilities. We can all make a positive difference in the lives of others. In the year ahead I would like to build on the successes of our past including fundraising, fellowship and our projects. We have a fantastic fundraising project coming up with the money raised going to Federated Farmers to support those affected by Cyclone Gabrielle. I feel privileged to lead the Rotary Club of Christchurch with its 101 years of history and its members that give so much of their time and energy.

Even though I am widely known as a staunch advocate for heritage and cultural values I have always had a strong personal commitment to community affairs. Joining the Rotary Club of Christchurch has enabled me to continue giving back to the community in which I have lived most of my life. As a Rotarian I support the work of Rotary, keep connected with our current community, help people and fundraise – all whilst enjoying the camaraderie of fellow members.

Rotary Worldwide has a long-standing tradition of creating lasting networks between professionals in communities around the world. Our Club has a long history in the community, we are one of the oldest Clubs in NZ. We lead local community-based projects, as well as taking part in global initiatives. Based in central Christchurch, our Club is very proud to continue this tradition, and we actively seek interest from people who may wish to join our Club and continue this work into future generations.
