Welcome to over 100 years of Rotary in Christchurch, NZ

Joining the Club gave me the opportunity to meet a whole lot of people I would have never otherwise known. There is great camaraderie, we all have the same objective, which is to give back to the community and enjoy ourselves while doing so.

Feel free to contact us, and join us at one of our lunchtime meetings.

Our Club has a long traditional of providing fellowship and contacts amongst the members, service to the community and advancing the Rotary objectives both here and abroad. It was my pleasure to lead the Club in continuing this tradition. New members are always welcome and I am sure you will enjoy the opportunities that arise from your membership of the Club.

Rotary is like a second family. From the day I first stepped foot inside the door, I was made to feel welcome and included. I am the Chair of the JR McKenzie Youth Education Fund. We assist financially stressed families by contributing to the cost of new school uniforms and shoes. It is a real privilege to be able to assist these families.

Initially meeting fellow Rotarians piqued my interest to join. My business is founded on high ethical standards and working always with honesty and integrity so meeting like-minded people was key. To me, Rotary is ethos, friendships, and fulfillment.

I was interested in forging strong links to the Christchurch community, getting to know people from other industries. I enjoy the opportunities for mentorship and governance experience, and being part of the Community Impact Grant.

I chose Rotary because I had been a Rotary Exchange Student 30 years ago so knew Rotary had a focus on community service, not just networking.

I was honoured to be invited to join Rotary. I very quickly realised the great opportunity to be involved with many people, who were leaders in their diverse fields, broadening my health background view. It has been very satisfying to have been part of the team that have raised over 1.5 million dollars for children’s charities in the Canterbury region from our annual ball over the past 21 years.
